Prominently located near the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., the United States Institute of Peace contains offices, an international conference center, and public exhibition and event space. Sophisticated lighting control systems minimize energy use, and contributed to the building’s LEED Gold certification. At night, the translucent wing-like roof forms glow, illuminated magically by invisible sources.
