Comprising 6,000 employees worldwide, multinational workforce and human capital management cloud provider, Kronos, had outgrown its previous location in Chelmsford, MA. Kronos selected the iconic Cross Point office tower complex in Lowell for its new global headquarters in 2016. Now centralized and spread across 16 floors, this new 465,000-square-foot space offers a combination of architecturally integrated uplighting, wallwashing, and decorative pendants in bold geometric forms, which emphasize the architectural features that are primarily situated around the building cores and common areas. Not to be ignored, the predominantly open offices benefit from a fun interpretation of the Kronos logo. The seemingly normal direct/indirect linear pendants lighting these spaces take a different direction – by literally changing direction; at the end of each run the custom pendants bend upward at the same angle as the lines in the company logo, and help mark the circulation zones around the open offices, conference rooms, and breakout spaces.
