Scissortail Park is a 70-acre urban oasis extending from the core of downtown Oklahoma City to the shore of the Oklahoma River. The lighting design beautifully enhances its architecture and landscape, transforming the space into a vibrant and welcoming environment at night. Designed with precision, the warm glow from the walkway lights creates a calming atmosphere for visitors. The wooden planks of the boardwalk are illuminated from below, emphasizing the natural textures of the materials and giving the space a seamless blend with the surroundings. The subtle yet striking reflections on the nearby water further contribute to a sense of serenity. Additionally, the lighting along the pedestrian bridge highlights its structure, creating a visual connection between the park’s key features and the skyline of Oklahoma City.
In addition to functional lighting, the design adds a touch of artistry to the park’s atmosphere. The contrast between the cool tones of the city skyline and the warm, amber tones of the walkway and bridge lights creates a dynamic visual composition. The iconic glass buildings in the background are beautifully contrasted against the park’s illuminated features, making the lighting an integral part of the overall aesthetic. The placement of the lights along the bridge and walkway enhances safety for pedestrians while simultaneously enhancing the park’s modern appeal. This thoughtful design not only ensures visibility but also elevates Scissortail Park into a lively and attractive nighttime destination.
