Carla Wille

Senior Lighting Designer

With a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Carla has over 10 years of experience working as an architect in Brazil, her country of origin. Being a public space enthusiast inspired Carla to obtain her master’s degree in Urbanism, Architecture and History of Cities, and she is constantly advocating for quality and accessibility in public spaces.  Her interest in urban design also led her to become a researcher and professor. As she matured as a designer, her passion for lighting grew, and eventually brought her to the US, where she earned her master’s degree from the Lighting Research Center in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York. She believes lighting is in the core of people’s experience of architecture and cities – and, therefore, is a fundamental element in any design practice. When Carla is not working, she might be found reading comic books, watching movies, or visiting parks and museums.
